A few months ago I began working on a front basket/platform for my bike to help carry items I couldn't fit in my bag, but never got around to actually building it. I've noticed that I stopped riding my bike the last few days because I've been lugging around various projects. So I decided to build the damn thing already. Day 1...
Always a good thing to have a scrap piece of similar wood to pretest your stain. I went with a more Golden Pecan color to compliment the mustard yellow of my frame. A few more coats of stain and some polyurethane and she should be good. Next, I just gotta find some nice old leather belts for straps.
