After settling on the final type layout I decided to recreate the backboard of the hoop with some inlaid wood work. Trying to keep it minimal by using different veneers and stains to create color and shape. Going for a clean vintage basketball hoop that would have been made for the ultimate championship game. We'll see how it goes...
First things first, I needed a backboard to replace the plexi backboard the hoop came with. Decided to get fancy and pick up some nice 1/2" walnut. Should take the stain nicely.
